Hugh Jackman Reveals Wolverine Is ‘Angrier’ In Deadpool 3

Ever since Hugh Jackman was confirmed to reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds, the actor has never been more open when it comes to reminiscing about his Wolverine role. In fact, he had previously mentioned his regrets about retiring from being the beloved mutant. There is no doubt every fan of his performance is relieved to see him back on screen, debuting in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Deadpool at that! Jackman doesn’t hesitate revealing Wolverine is ‘angrier’ in the upcoming Deadpool movie.

In a recent interview with AP Entertainment, Hugh Jackman is careful not to reveal too many details, but there is one thing we can expect from his MCU debut: an ‘angrier’ Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. You can watch the interview below:

“A what? There’s no choice. He’s definitely the angrier, acerbic, grumpy [Wolverine] and he’s gonna take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds, let me tell you. Physically, that is.”

The actor teases about Wolverine ‘taking shots’ at Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool — physically. Who cannot imagine a whole scenario of Wolverine continuously attacking Deadpool, while the anti-hero breaks the fourth wall with the audience to tease the fans through the screen?

Hearing Jackman’s statement must mean Deadpool 3 is not only set to make Wolverine’s MCU debut, but also feature a more lighthearted version of the character, as what Deadpool tends to do with characters he gets to be with on screen. He first played Wolverine in 2000 as part of the X-Men, which led him to reprise the role in a number of sequels and spinoffs, and eventually, ending his era in 2017’s Logan. Reynolds and Jackman addressed this jokingly in a video, justifying how Jackman’s MCU Wolverine is a different version in a ‘separate’ timeline.

Deadpool 3 will be directed by Free Guy and The Adam Project director Shawn Levy with the film premiering on November 8, 2024.
