We all know for a fact that Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for 17 straight years but despite his long tenure in the X-Men film franchise, fans weren't ready to see him retire from the role in 2017. But just when it looked like his days as Logan are over, his good pal Ryan Reynolds barges in to save the day and now, the two are set to team up in a long overdue project under the Marvel Studios banner.

The official announcement for Deadpool 3 last month definitely shattered the multiverse and both Reynolds and Jackman have begun preparing for the highly anticipated project. Speaking with People, Hugh expressed his excitement about taking on the Wolverine role four years after he made his last FoxVerse appearance in Deadpool 2.

The Australian actor jokingly said that he refuses to call the MCU flick "Deadpool 3" and instead, he'd much rather refer to it as "Wolverine 10". He shared: "It’s gonna be a blast! We like to call it Wolverine 10. That’s what I like to call it. I think being on set with [Ryan] every day and those two on film in every city together everyday... I think it’s fair to say they’ll be punching the shit out of each other the whole time."

Hugh also added that his upcoming MCU appearance just might take the cake as his favorite one. "All jokes aside, I’ll probably have more fun on this movie than any other I’ve ever done."

Deadpool 3 is currently being advertised as the final time Hugh plays the claw-slashing and cigar-smoking mutant. Of course, it makes a lot of sense, especially considering Kevin Feige will soon lay out his plans for the X-Men reboot.

Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 is currently slated for release on November 8, 2024.
