Disney's massive acquisition of Fox brought excitement to the comic book film fandom as it meant that characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four were finally headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it left some folks incredibly concerned for the R-rated Deadpool franchise given the fact that the House of Mouse has always been conscious of its family-friendly image.

Well, it seems like it's already safe to say that Disney is ready to step out of its comfort zone to embrace edgier content. In case you haven't heard yet, Disney+ is finally bringing Fox's R-rated hits to the streaming platform as Deadpool 1 & 2 and Logan will begin streaming tomorrow, July 22nd.

Hugh Jackman is celebrating their arrival on the platform and the Wolverine actor is incredibly thrilled to be sharing the milestone with his good pal Ryan Reynolds. Taking to his official Instagram page, Jackman wrote: "Thank you @disneyplus for adding brothers-in-arms @deadpoolmovie and #Logan as the first R-Rated movies on the platform. While your choice is questionable, we’ll take it. @vancityreynolds".

This is obviously a huge deal considering the company hasn't always catered to fans of R-rated content and I'd even dare say that it's a step in the right direction for them. It also erases any doubt that Disney and Marvel Studios will mishandle the Deadpool franchise which is a major win for the fandom.

Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan will begin streaming on Disney+ tomorrow.
