If someone told us five years ago that Hugh Jackman would ever reprise his Wolverine role, we never would've believed them but now, thanks to Marvel Studios, his grand comeback just became a reality. Jackman is gearing up for Deadpool 3 which will finally give fans a proper crossover between Logan and the Merc with a Mouth.

As it stands, key details about the project remain under wraps but Jackman isn't shy to acknowledge that he may have made a huge mistake leaving the X-Men film franchise five years ago.

Obviously, Jackman's decision to retire from his Wolverine role was already set in stone prior to Logan's release. However, he admits that seeing Deadpool for the first time made him question his judgment about quitting the franchise in the first place. Speaking with Variety, the Australian actor said the following:

"I went to a screening of ‘Deadpool.’ I was 20 minutes in, and I was like, ‘Ah, damn it!’ All I kept seeing in my head was ‘48 Hours’ with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy. So it’s been brewing for a long time. It just took me longer to get here. I think, actually, he’d given up. I think it was a big shock to him. There was a massive pause, and then he said, ‘I can’t believe the timing of this.’"

Thankfully, the opportunity to come back presented itself and while it may have taken Jackman some time to reconsider donning his Wolverine claws once again, it can't be denied that he definitely made a smart decision.

Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 is currently slated for release on November 8, 2024.
