Hearts were broken when Hugh Jackman "retired" from playing Wolverine after 2017's R-rated blockbuster Logan and understandably so, especially considering how the actor played the character for 17 years. When Disney acquired Fox in 2019, speculation surrounding his potential involvement in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project began but not only would Jackman shrug the idea off, but he also expressed his desire to see someone else take on the role.

This is why it's truly mind-blowing that the Australian star is coming out of his Wolverine retirement to play the character one more time in the MCU, and this time around, he's finally teaming up with his good pal Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3. When his involvement in the project was announced, the duo addressed the fans' concern over Logan's entry to the billion-dollar franchise but we've yet to hear from Jackman himself why he actually decided to take on the film.

Days following the jaw-dropping Deadpool 3 update was announced, a fan caught up with The Greatest Showman star and Hugh himself set the record straight once and for all. When asked how Marvel Studios was able to convince him to reprise his iconic role, Jackman simply responded with: "I make my own decisions." Check out the clip below:
