Is WandaVision on Netflix? Where to watch Disney’s new Marvel Series.

WandaVision is the first of Disney's new television shows produced by Marvel Studios. The series will be MCU canon and features Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) reprising their big-screen roles.

Both characters saw relatively little time on screen and never had their own solo movies, so it makes perfect sense for Disney to give them their own original TV series to explore the characters in-depth.

WandaVision will be taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Many people ask how Vision returns, seeing as he died at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. There's actually a lot of theories and discussion at this point and it will likely be a major plot point in the series.

WandaVision synopsis is as follows:

"Marvel Studios' WandaVision blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems."

So where can you watch WandaVision? Sorry Netflix fans! The show will not be airing on Netflix. WandaVision is a Disney+ exclusive. This means the only place you can watch the show is with a Disney+ subscription. Unfortunately, the show is unlikely to air on DVD as well, so there really is no way around it.

WandaVision is part of the huge push by Disney to make Disney+ a rival to Netflix. They have 4 other Marvel series releasing later this year, including Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and a new Hawkeye series revolving around Kate Bishop.

Disney will also be releasing new Star Wars originals this year following the success of The Mandalorian. New shows include an Obi Wan series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, The Acolyte, Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett, and much more!

Do you think these new shows justify a membership to Disney+? One advantage of Disney+ is that it only costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year. Netflix is a bit more expensive at $13.99 a month for HD content and no annual discount plan.

I had previously canceled my Disney+ membership after The Mandalorian season 1 aired. Since season 2 just came out, WandaVision is releasing soon, and many Star Wars and Marvel shows were announced, I purchased an annual plan. Seems like a great value for under $6 a month.

WandaVision will begin releasing weekly on Fridays starting January 15, 2021. It is expected to be 8 episodes long and will be directed by Matt Shakman.
