Antonio Banderas Sees Tom Holland Sporting His Zorro Cape In Reboot: “Why Not?”

Tom Holland has been gaining a lot of buzz lately, especially with his MCU return in Spider-Man 4 being underway, as well as reports about his plans of eventually settling down with Zendaya. Meanwhile, Antonio Banderas is considering his Uncharted co-star to sport his cape in the Zorro reboot.

Antonio Banderas is arguably most known for his role playing as Zorro in the eponymous movie series The Mask of Zorro, but has also played in various roles such as Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire (1994), Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise, and in the video game adaptation Uncharted as Santiago Moncada.

Recently, Banderas revealed on Comicbook.com who he would want to see take on the Zorro legacy, and without hesitation, the actor mentions Marvel’s Spider-Man star Tom Holland. Read Banderas’ full quote below:

“Tom Holland. I did Uncharted with him and he’s so energetic and fun and he’s got this spark, too. Why not?”

While Banderas is also open to reprise his role as the masked vigilante with Quentin Tarantino, it wouldn’t be bad to pass on the mask to his co-star.

“I would consider that possibility. Why not? I think during today’s interviews, I said something like that to somebody… I said that if they call it Zorro, I will do what Anthony Hopkins did in the first movie and give the torch to somebody else.”

Tom Holland may have become famous for playing Marvel’s Peter Parker slash friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but the actor has starred in various roles to prove his versatility in his career.

Tom Holland has starred in Dolittle (2020), Cherry (2021), Patrick Ness’ film adaptation Chaos Walking (2021), and even lent his voice in animated films such as Spies in Disguise (2019) with Will Smith, and Disney’s Onward (2020) alongside Chris Pratt.
