Stranger Things 4 has so far been well received by fans and critics. After all, not only is it the most epic season yet, each episode has been around 80 minutes in length, while the stakes have never been higher for Hawkins.

The fourth season finds our characters - Eleven, Will, Dustin, Steve, Joyce et al - spanning several different locations, while a "dark wizard" known as Vecna emerges from the Upside Down and leaves a trail of death in his wake.

As per the Netflix website, here's the official synopsis for Stranger Things 4:

It's been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn't made things any easier.

In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

To no surprise whatsoever, the seventh episode of Stranger Things 4 Part 1 ends on a major cliffhanger (more than one, to be precise), leaving viewers hungry for Part 2, which airs on Netflix on July 1.

Part 2 will consist of two feature-length episodes, and will conclude the events established in the first half of the season. But before we speculate as to which character might die, let's recap on the events so far.

The Stranger Things 4 Part 1 finale "Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab" finds many characters facing death. Nancy Wheeler is captured by Vecna, while Steve has suffered serious injuries and is also stuck in the Upside Down.

Meanwhile, on the outside, Max, who's with Dustin, Lucas, Eddie, Robin and Erica, remains a target of Vecna, while Joyce, Murray, and Hopper remain trapped in a Russian prison.

So, now that we're all caught up, let's return to that burning question - who will die in Stranger Things 4 Part 2? Well, while Stranger Things 5 is definitely happening, that doesn't mean that our Hawkins heroes are safe.

While Max escaped Vecna in what has quickly become an iconic scene (while also launching Kate Bush's classic "Running Up That Hill" to new heights of popularity), all signs point towards the fact that she's on borrowed time.

And we haven't even talked about Eleven yet! Before the finale came to a close, she learned that a Hawkins Lab employee is Victor Creel, a man who killed his mother and sister as a young boy using telekinetic powers.

He wound up an experiment in the Hawkins Lab , but he would later massacre his fellow patients, before being overpowered by Eleven - an event she had forgotten until now - and sent into the Upside Down where he became Vecna.

Eleven might be powerless right now, but we've no doubt whatsoever that those powers will be restored, as no other character in the show is equipped to fight Vecna, whose powers rival that of Eleven at the height of her telekinesis.

If we're being completely honest about which characters we're really worried about, it would be both Steve and Nancy. Steve has been seriously injured by bat-like creatures, while Nancy is now in Vecna's captivity...
