Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 gave everyone a mini-heart attack when Steve Harrington was attacked by the bat-like creatures in the Upside Down and he got some chunk of his body eaten by the monsters. Fans are now rallying to keep Joe Keery’s character alive until the end of the series.
In Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 Episode 6, The Dive, Steve Harrington volunteered to be the one to get into the waters of Lover’s Lake and check whether there is a gate that opened there that leads to the Upside Down. Just as he shared the news with Nancy, Robin, and Eddie on the boat, he was grabbed by a vine from the Upside Down and into it through what Dustin calls the watergate.
The start of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1 Episode 7 gave the viewers a shock when the bat-like creatures in the Upside Down attacked Steve Harrington and ate his flesh. Nancy, Robin, and Eddie arrived in time to save him but he felt like he already lost a pound of his flesh to the monsters.

This made the fans worry about his future in the series and they are outraged at the thought that Steve could die in this season and they are threatening to revolt if Joe Keery’s character would face his demise soon as they want to keep him in the show until the end. The good thing is that Steve is alive, at least, for now, but no one knows for sure what the bat-like creatures have to determine the fate of Steve. By the end of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol. 1, Steve tries to wake Nancy up from Vecna’s curse and they are still in the Upside Down.
Steve Harrington grew as a character throughout the series and he has been tagged as the best babysitter in the show, having to watch over the kids or drive them to places while the others go to investigate or look for answers.
With his charisma and twisted sense of humor, Steve Harrington easily became a fan-favorite alongside Dustin who is almost always paired up with him since the previous installments of the series. It's really not that hard to like him, he's charming!
