The multiverse madness of the MCU continues for Phase Four and one of the biggest releases that to set this up would be Spider-Man 3: No Way Home where it would have the involvement of one of the main characters involved with time and space, Doctor Strange. Since the previous release of Spidey is placed on the timeline eight months after Endgame, when would the third installment take place?

When Does Spider-Man 3: No Way Home Take Place In the MCU Timeline?

The Multiverse Saga has finally commenced for the fourth phase of the MCU and it all started with the introduction of how space and time work and it was further explained through one of the canon television shows released on Disney Plus with Loki delving into the various alternate realities left-branching out in its finale.

While there are still a lot of conversations about who really opened the multiverse, one of the candidates would be Spider-Man 3: No Way Home with Loki not exactly divulging when it exactly happened in the timeline given that where the series happened, time and space works differently than that on Earth.

As for Spider-Man 3: No Way Home, it is quite definite when it happened and what humongous change would be brought into the MCU as Doctor Strange conjures one of the most dangerous spells for Peter Parker to help him in his tainted personality when Mysterio revealed to the world his real identity. Despite Wong warning Stephen, he pursued the spell, even when he is well aware of the consequences of tampering with space-time.

The trailer did not exactly tell when it is situated in the MCU timeline but subtle hints would indicate that the movie will take place not long after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home which happened in the summer of 2024.

There are a lot of hints in the trailer that the film will be happening sometime near the holidays as it has been shown to have some Halloween decorations throughout. Some details in the background also show that the events might be just before Christmas considering the setting in the teaser. To put it in a safe bracket of time, it would be sometime in the Fall or Winter of 2024.

So far, to put the MCU timeline straight, WandaVision comes first being weeks after Endgame, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was next as it happened six months after having everyone blipped back, Spider-Man: Far From Home happened eight months after, so that puts Spider-Man 3: No Way Home just after that.

As for Shang-Chi, it is confirmed that it is not far from the timelines of Spider-Man as it happened in the present day, and for Loki and Eternals, they remain in question considering the intricacy of the storyline where for Loki, it happened after Endgame but in a place where time and space works differently, and for Eternals, they span 7,000 years in the history of the MCU but finally had to intervene after everyone was blipped back to existence, putting it is a muddier place in the timeline.

Spider-Man 3: No Way Home will be exclusively released in theaters on December 17, 2021.
