What Is Solo Leveling About?
Solo Leveling is a fantasy anime that unfolds in the modern world, but not quite as we know it, as this is a version full of monsters. Gifted individuals known as Hunters are tasked with protecting humanity.
Sung Jin-Woo is mockingly known as the world's weakest hunter, barely more powerful than an average human.

As such, his life is a constant struggle for survival, but he perseveres in order to provide for his family.
One day, a fight with a monster in a dungeon causes a near-death experience from which Jin-Woo emerges as an overpowered Hunter.
Now capable of accessing the world's stats in a way similar to D&D or RPGs, Jin-Woo can become one of the strongest anime characters of all time and perhaps even defeat the monarchs who plague humanity!
If you'd like to do some reading ahead, Solo Leveling is based on a web novel (later a manhwa) by Korean artist Chugong.
When Is the Solo Leveling Anime's Release Date?

It has now been confirmed that Solo Leveling is coming out in January 2024, though the exact release date has yet to be announced.
The Solo Leveling anime was going to be released in 2023, as announced during Anime Expo 2022. However, a trailer released by Crunchyroll soon after suggested "Next Winter" as the anime's new release window.
Our initial suspicion was that the anime would just be pushed off until later in 2023. But the anime's third trailer and other relevant announcements put an end to the speculation, confirming that Solo Leveling will be part of the Winter 2024 anime season.
Solo Leveling Delayed Release, Explained

Fans had hoped that Solo Leveling, which will be known as Ore dake Level Up na Ken in Japanese, would release as early as Spring 2023, but sadly, this is not going to be the case.
Aniplex and A-1 Pictures have faced hard times lately with the Fate/Strange Fake Special being pushed back to July 2023 and the NieR: Automata anime being indefinitely delayed.
For the latter, a COVID outbreak was given as a reason for the delay.
Staff burnout, limited time and resources, and too many anime titles are also considered to be a few of the reasons for the delays.
Of course, this is concerning, and it's important that staff members take all the time they need to recover.

Where to Watch the Solo Leveling Anime

For international audiences, Solo Leveling will be available to watch on Crunchyroll.
The streaming platform's lineups are usually announced later, just a little before a new anime season begins.
When an anime that's still in production already has its distribution lined up, this is pretty big.
Currently, it is not known whether the Solo Leveling anime will also be in Korean.
Since it will be produced by a Japanese studio and distributed by Crunchyroll, it'll most likely be in Japanese, though a Korean dub can't be ruled out too.
