Miyuki Shirogane is main character Kaguya's love interest and the school president of Shuchi'in Academy.

Unlike most students in his school, he doesn't come from a particularly privileged background but he managed to climb his way to excellence through hard work and determination.

While Miyuki starts of as a bit of a flat love interest with no flaws - which is the case with most Kaguya-sama characters - he later shows a bit more depth as there are several things he isn't all that good at and he's less confident than initially suspected.

If you're interested in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War references, Miyuki is based on Ootomo no Miyuki - the fourth suitor from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter - who's tasked with obtaining a jewel from the neck of a dragon.

Our Miyuki has a relatively easier time, though he does have to go to great lengths for Kaguya.

In the anime, Miyuki has expressed his wish to apply to Stanford, though it'll be a while before he can actually go. In the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War manga, which is well ahead, Miyuki is all set to attend Stanford though once again it hasn't happened yet.

This decision to study abroad definitely has several implications for the main couple and might determine whether Kaguya and Miyuki end up together for good, or get separated at some point along the way.

It would most likely be realistic for them to split up, at least for a while, as few high school romances stand the test of time. Of course, fans would rather see them get and stay together against all odds.

In the anime, it looks like Miyuki's decision to go to Stanford makes him realize that he won't be a high school student forever. Perhaps it will even give him just the edge he needs to finally confess!
