More than a deeper perspective on who Clint Barton is and a thorough introduction of Kate Bishop, Hawkeye brought in so much potential with the arrival of characters that would be big in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the show seems to be microscopic as compared to the big films released in the franchise, it gives the MCU a new direction with a brighter future.

Hawkeye went into a human approach on the characters, proving that anyone can be a hero, with Kate even mentioning that Clint Barton neither had magical powers nor flying abilities and yet he remained to be a hero and an inspiration to many. All in all, the show humanized what it is like to be a hero and it even gave a glimpse of the struggles of one.

Before the start of the series, a spinoff has already been announced with Echo, focusing on Alaqua Cox’s Maya Lopez and while it has yet to be revealed whether the new show will be set before Hawkeye or after the events of the finale, many are already excited for the future of the heroine, being an icon to a lot of fans, especially to those who has disabilities as Maya is both deaf and an amputee, showing that anyone can be a hero.

Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock also arrived, being confirmed by Kevin Feige himself and appearing on Spider-Man: No Way Home. This could be a potential meet-up of Kingpin and Daredevil in an exciting new twist in the story.

Yelena Belova also made an appearance in Hawkeye and while her debut was in Black Widow, in Hawkeye, she finally understands the actions of Natasha Romanoff, her sister, and would possibly have more in her story as her character journeys in the fourth phase of the MCU.

Kate Bishop surely has a future in the MCU as well. Her character has been stellar since the beginning and her archery and fighting skills are impeccable. After the series, it is expected that Kate Bishop will play a much larger role in the franchise.

As for Laura Barton, many are speculating that she is the Mockingbird of the MCU franchise following the reveal that the Rolex watch coveted by the Tracksuit mafia in the black-market auction belongs to her and it has the logo of S.H.I.E.L.D., seemingly hinting that she was affiliated with the said organization in the past.

Clint Barton seems to be enjoying retirement especially now that he has finally sorted out the issues from being Ronin. It is possible that he could mentor the new Avengers team just like in the comics.

Hawkeye Season 1 is now streaming on Disney Plus.
