Why is the Rolex Watch Important to Hawkeye? To Whom Does It Belong To?

In Hawkeye Episode 4, “Partners, Am I Right?,” surprisingly, Laura seems to know so much of Clint’s work considering that much of it used to be classified or something like that, still, the wife knows so much, she is a surprise to pretty much everyone.

It turns out she knows about the watch that the Tracksuit mafia was about to take from the black market auction, that was unaccounted for by Clint and yet, she knows of it, even sending him the location of it.

Not only that, when Clint asked her to run a few things and see what is behind some items like Sloan Ltd., she is so good at it that she traced it back to Jack Duquesne who turned out to be the CEO of the said shell company which they use to launder money.

In the first appearances of Linda Cardellini’s Laura Barton, she is just a wife and mother of three living in a farmhouse but in this episode of Hawkeye, she speaks different languages such as German, tracks transmitters on the watch, and immediately has access to intel that Clint gave in a short notice.

This led fans to speculate that the watch could have been hers and that it carries her print which they can trace to her identity, her real one beyond the housewife façade, and that she might be another S.H.I.E.L.D. agent before becoming the wife of Clint Barton. She knows the line of work so well that she completely understands when Hawkeye has some hero stuff to do.

Rumors spread that she might be Mockingbird, the wife of Hawkeye in the comics and while she is not Barbara “Bobbie” Morse like Adrienne Palicki’s character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she might be the MCU version of it. It may be why the watch is so important to Clint.

What do you think is the importance of that watch?
