A new major player is in town, the crime overlord of New York City, Kingpin was easily recognized by Hawkeye when Kate showed to him the clip of who Eleanor Bishop is meeting. Yelena Belova found out that it was Eleanor who hired her to kill Clint Barton and he positively identified that the one in the photo is Wilson Fisk, the big boss.

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is a familiar face as he debuted in the Netflix series, Daredevil, and he is the main villain that made the life of Matt Murdock challenging. With Daredevil debuting in the MCU as well in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is not surprising if the two will cross paths once more, now under the franchise.

There are three seasons of Daredevil under Netflix which ran from 2015 to 2018. Charlie Cox’s titular character faced Kingpin various times as he uncovered the criminal underworld of New York City. It was said to be renewed for Season 4, however, given the circumstances, it was canceled. Still, hope remains as Kingpin and Matt Murdock are now in the MCU.

Whether the Netflix series of Daredevil be marked as canon or would there be a reboot of the whole story, the director of Daredevil, Steven DeKnight, admitted that he had no idea if Daredevil or the other Netflix’s Marvel shows such as Jessica Jones, The Punisher, and Defenders would be canon to the MCU in response to a fan who asked on Twitter.

It would be really nice if the said shows would be canon but the decision on the matter remains on the top executives of Marvel on whether these would fit into the current narrative of the whole franchise. So far, only D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Cox’s Daredevil made an appearance in the MCU.

Do you think these shows would be canon?

Hawkeye finale will stream exclusively on Disney Plus.
