Margot Robbie Reveals Her Favorite Harley Quinn Prop Is Right Next To Her Bed

Cast members, more often than not, tend to take stuff like stage props from recent films and series they worked on; something physical and memorable enough to remember it by. Margot Robbie is no exemption. The Suicide Squad star said she kept one Harley Quinn prop from set, and even keeps it right next to her bed for safekeeping. Granted, the film had received countless criticisms on writing issues, but it had also been a financial success with its big-named cast actors such as Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and others.

In a video for Elle, Robbie shared that she kept this one Harley Quinn prop after Suicide Squad filming ended. She also sounded close to her character while telling the story of which prop she got to take home with her. Read her quote below:

“I’ve got my Harley Quinn baseball bat. Next to my bed. Just in case anyone makes the mistake of breaking into my house, they’ll regret that.”

Robbie had become the iconic Harley Quinn image ever since Suicide Squad and even went to reprise the role in her character’s spinoff, Birds of Prey in 2020, where she attempts to make her own image without Joker anymore. Robbie’s Harley Quinn performance had always been this perfect mix of charm and darkness of the character, but even so, revealed that she was not in much control of how the character was presented on screen, as she shared on CinemaBlend:

“I don’t really have that much authorship over where different directors… I mean, on Birds of Prey, I was a producer, so I had more of a say, but I felt very confident in James Gunn’s hands that she [Quinn] was going to be handled with respect to the character and the fan base, because he understands that, you know? So I was as curious as anyone opening that script up to see like, ‘Okay, what’s his version of Harley and what’s she like?”

Meanwhile, Harley Quinn will return in Joker: Folie à Deux which is expected to hit cinemas on October 4, 2024.
