This month is monumental for the DC universe as it marks 30 years since the creation of Harley Quinn and it's pretty safe to say that she never looked back. First making her appearance in the critically-acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series, the character grew in popularity and would later become an official part of the DC canon, becoming a main character in her own right.

The beloved anti-hero made her first live-action outing on the big screen in David Ayer's Suicide Squad and while the film received generally negative reviews, Margot Robbie's brilliant portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime's trusty henchwoman/love interest clicked with the fandom, resulting in her appearing in more projects over the last six years.

Now, in case you were worried that Warner Bros. Discovery's DCEU shake-up will affect Harley's future, James Gunn just confirmed that we'll see her in an upcoming project.

When asked by a fan on Twitter if Harley will be returning to the DCEU, The Suicide Squad director, who was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the beloved character simply said "yes" although he didn't specify when exactly we'll see her back.

In a separate response, Gunn hinted that he'll potentially be working with the Australian actress for more DCEU projects which is definitely a huge win for all of us.

As it stands, details about Gunn's next DCEU movie remain scarce but he's gearing up for Peacemaker Season 2 which begins filming in 2023. Considering The Suicide Squad didn't give us enough interactions between Christopher Smith and Harley, I think it would be a great idea to add her to the show but hey, that's just me.

Meanwhile, The Suicide Squad (whichever version you prefer) is streaming on HBO Max.
