Say what you will about the DC Universe but it's quite evident that the "Elseworlds" concept has done wonders for the franchise. Following the unprecedented success of 2019's Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix, Warner Bros. was able to maintain the momentum with Robert Pattinson's The Batman and as it stands, both projects have received their respective follow-up films.

Speaking of the Todd Phillips-directed project, the upcoming sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux recently confirmed that multi-time Grammy winner Lady Gaga has been cast as Harley Quinn with the film reportedly getting a musical-type of treatment.

Naturally, fans have been trying to pit Gaga and Margot Robbie against one another but believe it or not, there is no actual beef between the two and if anything, The Suicide Squad star is happy that Harley Quinn gets to be interpreted by someone else other than her.

Speaking with MTV News' Josh Horowitz to discuss her new film Amsterdam, the Australian actress was asked whether or not she feels weird that Gaga has been cast in the role.

Robbie said: "It makes me so happy because I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters the way like Macbeth or Batman, always gets passed, you know, from great actor to the great actor and it's kinda like someone gets to do their Batman or someone gets to do their Macbeth."
