Suicide Squad: Scott Eastwood Turned Down Sequel Offers Because WB Won't Pay Him

There is little doubt that Warner Bros. had huge plans for Suicide Squad before the film actually dropped back in 2016. For instance, it looks like the studio wanted to produce more sequels that would involve Scott Eastwood. The Fury star has just revealed that he turned down an offer to star in more Suicide Squad movies because Warner Bros. didn't want to pay him!

Scott Eastwood recently spoke to Insider where he confirmed he was supposed to reprise his role as GQ Edwards in what would have been a three-picture deal with Warner Bros. but he decided to pass on the flimsy offer.

"They didn't want to pay me any money for those next movies and ... they didn't have another script for the other movie, so I didn't know what I was going to be signing myself up for," Eastwood said. He then admitted that he spoke to his father, the legendary Clint Eastwood, seeking his advice on what to do.

"I said, 'They don't want to pay me,'" Eastwood said. "He said, 'If it feels like they really need you and if it's a good part, then do it. If not, then don't.'"

It was reasonable advice and Eastwood realized that he didn't know enough about the films to accept the deal.

"I didn't have the answer to those questions at that time. I wasn't going to have the answers, and they were pressuring me. So ultimately it didn't happen," he stated.

It is unclear if the offer was made before the premiere of Suicide Squad but if it was, this could explain why Eastwood's character was killed off in the movie. Sadly, it might mean that he missed out on being part of James Gunn's reboot but there is little doubt that Eastwood's career is far from slowing down.
