Suicide Squad Star Says Ayer Cut Has 'More Gross Things'

There is little doubt that fans are still hoping to see the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad. After all, the theatrical cut of the DC Extended Universe film didn't quite turn out as expected considering that director David Ayer openly admitted that he had wanted to take it in a different direction. So what exactly can we expect in the director's cut if it ever gets released? Ike Barinholtz claims that the movie would have "more gross things" to offer!

In 2016, expectations were high for Suicide Squad but the film fell flat on its face. Despite all this, fans believed that the Ayer Cut would make up for everything and Ike Barinholtz confirms with Comicbook.com that although he hasn't seen it, he knows that the director has some interesting footage of his character Griggs that could be added in the Ayer Cut.

"Gosh, you know, I never saw it. Maybe? There was definitely more stuff we shot, definitely more, I remember saying more gross things," Barinholtz said. "I would assume so, I don't know."

Barinholtz then added that fans should try pushing for more Griggs. "We should start a hashtag, #ReleaseTheIkeCut. Does this sound like maybe something you would join me on?" he asked.

Griggs might not be the character all fans liked but he held his own against Task Force X. Although we're not sure if a Griggs cut would be the best option, we'd love to see the Ayer Cut in the future.

For now, there hasn't been any confirmation that the Ayer Cut will be released anytime soon. However, people believe that the success of Zack Snyder's Justice League and the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut might be able to help. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Ike Barinholtz's new series The Afterparty will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 28, 2022.
