What Happened in Hawkeye Episode 3?
In Hawkeye Episode 3, Echoes, it started with the back story of Echo, a.k.a. Maya Lopez when she was a child and she attended a regular school just like any other kid. Being deaf, she may have felt that she is different. She reads the lips of her teacher to catch up with the lessons and she is surprisingly good in school with her worksheets.
Later that night, she asked her father why she attends a school with regular kids when she was promised that they would put her in a deaf school. His father disclosed that they cannot afford it and apologized to her. She also asked if dragons are real and there, his father called her his little dragon.
In a martial arts class, it was also seen that Maya is an amputee, with her right leg an artificial one and it showed how, since she was a child, she reads the movements of her opponents and puts it to her advantage that she became extremely good with it. The scene cuts to Maya being a grown-up where she is training.

Maya snuck into the business of her father who was revealed to be a part of a mafia and since Ronin cleansed the criminal underworld, Maya’s father was a casualty of it. There, her vengeance on Ronin intensified which explains why she is persistent to finding the killer of her father.
Back in the present, Kate Bishop and Hawkeye remain captive with the Tracksuit mafia and they are still on the kiddie rides where they were tied to. Echo makes herself known and she was surprised to see that Clint Barton has a hearing aid and it is as if she wanted him to learn what it is like to silence the rest of the world since she, herself, is deaf.
While conversing, Hawkeye manages to break the tape on his hands and run free. A whole lot of action followed wherein they are in pursuit of Clint. He later got to his arrow and with the best weapon he could ever don, he showed why he is the marksman of the Avengers. Unfortunately for Clint, Echo destroyed his hearing aid while fighting.
Clint was able to free Kate and he even got a good dive in a pool of balls. Once the two got out, they hot wired a car and fled resulting in an action-packed chase between them and Echo with the Tracksuit Mafia. Along the way, Clint drives while Kate shoots various special arrows when they ran out of regular ones.
There was the Play-Doh arrow, the explosive arrow, the plunger arrow, the one which pulls everything together with its small wires, the acid arrow, the purple smoke arrow, the Pym arrow which is an amazing one, the USB arrow which was also seen in the finale of What If..? Season 1, and the ever-favorite grappling hook arrow.
Contrary to Kate’s first impression of the plunger arrow being useless, they held onto it to escape via train. After the fight, the first thought of Kate was walking the dog since he was cooped up in the apartment the whole day. As for the Tracksuit mafia, they had to leave their hideout since it had already been compromised and Kaz even mentioned the uncle of Echo is the one they all answer to.
They went for a walk and had to stop by someone who could fix the hearing aid of Clint and they had a lunch-out with the dog. Kate is still not over the branding of Hawkeye that she even presented a new costume to him, one which is similar to that of his costume in the comics. While Clint doesn’t want to have a new costume, Kate seems to be persistent about it. The dog also got his name as the Pizza Dog.
While walking in the park, Kate discloses her mistrust on Jack Duquesne as she thinks that he is the one who killed Armand III. She hatched a plan to get some information on both the Tracksuit mafia and Jack so they would have to break into the penthouse of her mother to access the files of Bishop Security. Upon arrival, Kate even shared a story of how she dangled on the chandelier, fell, and broke her arm.
When they were accessing the files, they found out that Kaz is an employee of one Sloan Ltd. Hawkeye asked how Armand III died and she said that he was stabbed by a sword. Clint felt that someone was there and when he wandered off, Kate lost her access to the files and Clint was faced with a familiar sword, the retractable Ronin sword, and it is handled by Jack.
Hawkeye Episode 4 Spoilers, Theories, and Leaks
It was an episode full of Easter eggs but what makes it interesting is the display of arrows. The Pym arrow is possibly an upgrade from Scott Lang. But for someone in retirement, why would Hawkeye have so many upgrades on his arrows as if he was expecting another fight when he only wants to be with his family? Could it be that he just misses the action or is he preparing for something in the future?
It should be noted that Hawkeye is the founder of the West Coast Avengers and with the name of Moira Brandon appearing in the previous episode, it is possible that the said team would be formed in the near future. If not that, then it could be the Young Avengers.
As for Echo, her backstory was touching and it is understandable why she wouldn’t stop pursuing Ronin. What makes it interesting is that her uncle was mentioned and that he is the big boss of all of them. In the comics, she is connected to Kingpin. Is he arriving in the MCU?
And Jack, oh Jack, is he a villain in the story? Did he really kill Armand III? Kate thinks so, plus there is a big motivation for him to kill off his uncle, possibly for the inheritance or something more. It seems that he would go on a full-fledged Swordsman in the story.
Other than that, where is Yelena, anyway? When will she arrive in the story? She is expected to come out as she was given the task by Contessa Val of targeting Hawkeye as the killer of her sister, Natasha. Will she be out in the next episode?
