A lot of things are set up by the first two episodes of Hawkeye and there are major Easter eggs that could hint to what the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has in store. One of those is a blink-or-you-miss-it name how she would be relevant to the story. Who is the aunt of Kate Bishop, Moira Brandon, the owner of the place where she and Clint, along with Lucky, crashed into?

Hawkeye Easter Egg: Who is Kate Bishop's Aunt Moira Brandon and How is She Relevant?

In the second episode of Hawkeye, Hide and Seek, Kate and Clint had to run from the Tracksuit mafia when her place was burned down into flames and since she is now marked, they had to crash into another place, one where they could not be tracked down so after stopping by at a local store for supplies and first aid, they went straight into the flat of Kate’s Aunt and the name on the doorbell says “Moira Brandon.”

Kate said that place is a safe one since her aunt would not be home for the holidays and such a place to crash has cash and goods which could sustain them while they are in hiding. Her place is chic, quite cluttered but rest assured it is untraceable to her as she was wanted by the Tracksuit mafia, mistaking her for being the Ronin. Who is Moira Brandon, anyway? Why is she relevant and how?

In Marvel comics, Moira Brandon used to be a Hollywood actress and she lived in Los Angeles, California. Being an actress, she has properties, one of which was bought by the West Coast Avengers for their station. When they were ambushed by Crossfire, Moira saved Clint Barton and his wife in the comics, Barbara Morse, also known as Mockingbird. That was when Moira became an honorary Avenger.

In the MCU, that is quite different considering that Mockingbird, although appearing in the contested Agents of SHIELD whether it is canon, and Clint have different spouses. What is close to being a reality is the formation of the West Coast Avengers or the Young Avengers. It should be noted that Elijah Bradley, Wiccan, Speed, Cassie Lang, and this time, Kate Bishop, already entered the MCU. America Chavez is on her way.

Is Moira Brandon appearing in the series? If yes, it seems that the MCU is already preparing for its bright future that a new group of heroes is about to arrive, whichever team gets introduced in the future.

Hawkeye Episode 3 releases on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, exclusively on Disney Plus.
