In Episode 2 of Hawkeye, Hide and Seek, it was revealed that the Tracksuit mafia is under the orders of Echo, a woman who was feeling the vibrations of the speakers in a separate room. Her arrival in the MCU not only introduces her character, it sort of opens the doors to Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk coming into the franchise as well. How is she connected to Kingpin?
Hawkeye: Who is Echo?
The woman at the end of Episode 2 is none other than Echo and she is played by Alaqua Cox. She belongs to the Cheyenne Nation; she is a native American. Also, she is deaf. Her arrival in the MCU is something of representation and inclusion. While Makkari was the first to be introduced as MCU’s deaf superhero, Echo belongs to the Native Americans as well and being played by Alaqua Cox who is both a native American and deaf, that is a huge feat for Marvel.
Hawkeye: How is Echo Connected to Kingpin?
In the comics, Echo is closely connected to Kingpin as she is one of his pawns. She was one of the weapons of choice of Kingpin to kill of Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil. However, she fell in love with her target and later left Kingpin’s side. Even when they did not end up together, she was introduced to be one of the good guys.
Is Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk Coming Into the MCU in Hawkeye?
It has been rumored that the Kingpin from Daredevil will be debuting in the MCU as speculations spread that Vincent D’Onofrio will be reprising his role as Wilson Fisk. And that he would first appear in Hawkeye. If and when this would be true, would things be the same for Matt Murdock given Echo’s relationship with him? Will Daredevil be entering the MCU, too?
Echo will also have her own spinoff series and if Kingpin and Daredevil would not debut in Hawkeye, would they be in the spinoff or would they appear in a different movie?
See Echo in Hawkeye with Episodes 1 and 2 streaming on Disney Plus.
