  1. Season 2

Based on IMDB ratings, the first 20 top-rated episodes do not include any from Season 2. While this is unfortunate, we have to agree that this particular season is not the best compared to the other seasons.

After the first season, people had high expectations for the sequel.

The second season executed the series well, but there were too many complicated issues introduced that the viewers started to wonder where the story was going.

It seemed to prepare viewers for something huge, but fans could not tell what.

In this season, the main protagonists only advanced a little in terms of character development.

Eren still yells and gets upset without any reason. Mikasa remained the same ideal heroine as the previous season. As for Armin, he was still on the sidelines.

The season gave off a different vibe than the manga did and left a lot of unanswered questions. These are the reasons Season 2 of Attack on Titan fell to seventh place.

  2. Season 1

The first season got non-anime fans hooked on the series because of Attack on Titan’s intriguing concept. The season introduced fans to Attack on Titan and to Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.

But compared to Seasons 3 and 4, the character development in the first season was slow.

How the trio was introduced simply continued until the second season, with no significant progress, which disappointed some fans. Season 1 focused on the tip of the iceberg of the whole series.

Overall, the flow of the story was simple enough for viewers to understand the story's direction and what to expect.

  3. Season 4 Part 1

Seasons 1 to 3 have built up the main story, and Season 4 fills all the missing gaps.

Viewers have only seen the perspective of Eren and the people of Paradis Island, but this season explored more of the world outside the walls.

Since the focus of the fantasy series widened, the plot improved. It no longer follows a singular path, and we now see both sides of the story.

The actions made by each character are justified, adding an impact to their character development and to the flow of the story.

Each episode contains intense scenes that make viewers hooked to the show.

However, fans were disappointed when Sasha Blouse died, as she is one of the most loved characters of the series.

Her death might provoke Mikasa and the others to fight more, but it felt inappropriate.

  4. Season 4 Part 2

In Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2, another fan favorite was written off.

Although Levi Ackerman did not die, his fatal injuries prevented him from joining the action. This disappointed fans again, as we all know how pivotal he is in the series.

On the bright side, Attack on Titan took a massive twist as it revealed Eren's plan.

Eren's character development in this particular season surprised everyone, despite preparing themselves for the impossible.

Eren proved himself different from other shonen protagonists by choosing a different path.

He was willing to betray everyone, including his brother, for the sake of his ideals.

  5. Season 3 Part 1

This particular season showcased the very popular Levi Ackerman. Eren and some of the 104th soldiers were assigned to the Levi Squad with a mission to keep Eren and Historia safe.

Season 3 further explained how Titans came about and Eren’s connection to all of it. Unexpected characters died, which added more to the show's emotional impact.

The visuals of each fight scene were unlike others in this season. Not only was the animation improved, but also the characters.

Now that the team is under Levi, fans learned more about the captain.

Viewers understood that he is not just a cold soldier, as he cares about his teammates.

Armin also shined in this season. His intellect and presence in the team earned him the right to get Titan powers.

Mikasa’s growth was also evident despite it being obvious that everything she did was because of Eren. The season showed more of her skills and abilities.

Viewers did not expect the story's progression as it emphasized that Titans are not the only enemies Eren and his companions should face.

Season 3 laid the cards for how big the problem is and leveled up the characters, which makes it deserving of the number three spot.

  6. Season 3 Part 2

More secrets were revealed in Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 2. However, as some mysteries were solved, other questions also emerged. This clearly shows how Attack on Titan differs from your average shonen anime.

Its plot and characters continue to develop this season, but there is still a lot to learn to grasp its entire world fully.

Some important themes tackled were humanity's desire for violence and finding meaning in life.

The fight scenes became more realistic as the season progressed, especially the fight between Eren and Reiner.

The slow-motion scenes brought curiosity and thrill to the viewers. The details found on each landscape also kept getting better.

Without a doubt, Season 3 Part 2 deserves this rank as it completely levels up Attack on Titan as a shonen anime.

  7. Season 4 Part 3

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 tackled the perspective of the other characters and revealed how everything started.

At this point, viewers realize that each character has their version of the truth. There is no real bad guy, just people who live according to lies or manipulation.

The final season is where all the confrontations take place. Aside from Eren’s growth, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, Reiner, and the other characters evolved too.

These well-loved characters are no longer the ones fans saw in Season 1.

As the truth is revealed, more and more people are drawn to the series. The final season made all the wait worthwhile, especially for manga fans.

Watching the final chapters in anime form brought so many emotions, from happiness and grief to sadness. We've felt everything the characters were feeling as Eren Yeager's time on Paradise Island ends.

There are no words to express how memorable and powerful the final episode of Attack on Titan is, and to this day, we are heartbroken about what happened to Eren and his friends, and of course, the love of his life, Mikasa Ackerman.

The end of Attack on Titan is similar to the end of an era. Even so, Hajime Isayama's masterpiece will forever be remembered as one of the best.
