Dr. Stone Writer Says Manga is NOT Yet Over Following Hunter x Hunter New Chapters Announcement

It has already been confirmed that the Dr. Stone manga concluded earlier this year but it looks like Riichiro Inagaki has taken back the whole idea of the story coming to an end too soon. The writer teased a possible new chapter coming soon. Interestingly, Inagaki's update comes just hours after Yoshihiro Togashi announced four new chapters of Hunter x Hunter are in the works!

It was previously confirmed by Yoshihiro Togashi (on his brand-new Twitter account) that Hunter x Hunter is getting four new chapters which are currently in development. The announcement was met with a lot of excitement and it looks like even other mangakas are hyped up for the news as well.

Just a few hours after Togashi's tweet became viral, Riichiro Inagaki also dropped a major update on his own. The Dr. Stone writer teased that although the manga is a weekly serialization, it is not yet over.

It's an interesting tease considering that the manga's conclusion was confirmed by Inagaki itself. So what could the writer possibly be referring to? There is a possibility that Inagaki's tease is actually about a spin-off or the special chapter that will be published in commemoration of the spin-off episode Dr. Stone: Ryusui.

Dr. Stone: Ryusui will follow Ryusui Nanami, an accomplished sailor and the Heir to the Nanami Conglomerate. When he first appeared in the anime, Ryusui is still petrified but he would be revived by Senku Ishigami who is impressed with his expertise in sailing. The anime special is also expected to bring back Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Gen Sato as Chrome, and Kengo Kawanishi as Gen Asagiri.

For now, the new Dr. Stone chapter has not yet been officially announced. In the meantime, Dr. Stone: Ryusui will premiere in July 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
