Hunter x Hunter is getting lots of attention once again, and that’s not just because Yoshihiro Togashi has started updating his X account again. Togashi is set to appear in a TV Asahi program where he will reveal the Hunter x Hunter ending in case he isn’t able to finish the series.
Details were leaked ahead of the program. There, Togashi revealed that he has four endings in mind. He said that some of the options are better than others when it comes to fan reception.
Instead of sharing all four endings, Togashi detailed one of them, which he says fans can consider in case the series doesn’t get finished.
What This Means for Hunter x Hunter’s Future
Yoshihiro Togashi is one of the most esteemed shonen manga artists thanks to his iconic works such as Yu Yu Hakusho.
Togashi has long struggled with his back, which is the main reason for the series going on lengthy hiatuses. Because of this, Hunter x Hunter fans are concerned about how the series will end.
The author addressed this as he shared one potential ending for the series.
So, what does this mean for the manga? Well, given that Togashi is continuing to work on new chapters, it’s not like he is abandoning the series.
Instead, this is just him giving fans some sense of closure in advance. After all, he has indicated before that he might not be able to finish the series in his lifetime.
Interestingly though, the ending that he mentioned is a bit vague, meaning the picture might become clearer as the manga continues.

Togashi Reveals Possible Hunter x Hunter Ending
According to the leaks, which were translated to English by pewpiece, Togashi has four endings planned. Endings A and B will have a 50% satisfactory rating, Togashi explained.
Meanwhile, Togashi said that Ending C is the one he prefers the most, though he said that many fans will be dissatisfied with it.
Finally, Togashi shared the story of Ending D. Interestingly, this vague ending which features a young girl named Jin is no longer a prime candidate for the series’ conclusion.
Despite being the last choice, Togashi said that in the event he passes away before finishing the series, fans can consider this to be the manga’s proper ending. Togashi also asked for fans to forgive him if that happens.
Following the ending’s reveal, fans reacted with both appreciation for Togashi as well as sadness as many are still holding out hope that the author can finish the series on his terms.
For now, there’s no announcement yet on when the Hunter x Hunter manga will return with new chapters.
