Dr. Stone Stage Play Sets Performances in July

We're still waiting for updates on the Dr. Stone anime after it was confirmed that a third season is coming next year. However, it looks like fans can revisit Senku Ishigami's mission to rebuild humanity as the manga is getting a stage play that will run in July 2022!

The announcement was made in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #23 which featured the first key visual for Dr. Stone: The Stage - Science World. It was also confirmed that the stage play will run in Tokyo from July 9 to 18, 2022 before moving to Kobe later in the same month from July 21 to 24, 2022.

This is awesome news considering that fans have been hoping for new Dr. Stone content since the manga concluded in March. The new stage play is also set to run at around the same time that the television special Dr. Stone: Ryusui will be broadcast so it sounds like July will be an exciting month for fans.

Although the main manga series has concluded, it was also revealed that a new chapter will be published later this year and is set to focus on Ryusui Nanami. If this is the case, the new chapter will be the perfect companion for the anime special episode.

Dr. Stone is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, and it follows teenage scientific genius Senku Ishigami as he tried to rebuild civilization after humanity was mysteriously petrified for 3,700 years. Along the way, he is helped by his friend Taiju Oki and they revive Tsukasa Shishio as well as their classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa.

The third season of Dr. Stone has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere sometime in 2023. Likewise, Dr. Stone: Ryusui has been confirmed to be broadcast in July but the official date has not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
