Dr. Stone is finally returning with an awesome new project. The anime special Dr. Stone: Ryusui has just been confirmed for a July 2022 release date!
The announcement was made during the Dr. Stone: Ryusui BLUE stage panel at Anime Japan 2022 which was attended by voice actors Yusuke Kobayashi, Gen Sato, and Kengo Kawanishi. They were joined by Ryota Suzuki who will play Ryusui Nanami in the upcoming anime special. In addition to that, the first images from the project were shared during the event. Check them out below.
Dr. Stone: Ryusui will follow Ryusui Nanami, an accomplished sailor and the Heir to the Nanami Conglomerate. When he first appeared in the anime, Ryusui is still petrified but he would be revived by Senku Ishigami who is impressed with his expertise in sailing. The anime special is also expected to bring back Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Gen Sato as Chrome, and Kengo Kawanishi as Gen Asagiri.
Fans are undoubtedly delighted that Dr. Stone: Ryusui will finally be broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS11 this July. After all, the manga recently concluded and it will still be a long wait for the anime's third season. Luckily, fans will be getting some awesome new content this summer.
Dr. Stone creator Riichiro Inagaki recently spoke up about the manga's conclusion to offer some hope to his fans. His message points out how the manga started and how it ended and Inagaki even left a little tease about Dr. Stone's future.
"With the jump released today, Dr. STONE will reach the final story!!! Just 5 years. The story that started with the 14th issue ends with the 14th issue. Thank you for your patronage and support for 5 years !! And ... it's not over yet. It's just going to continue!!!" Inagaki wrote.
Dr. Stone: Ryusui will premiere in July 2022.
