The Mandalorian Season 4: Is The Series Renewed?

A story that ticks all the boxes in the understanding of the background of the lore, the tone of the franchise, and everything that comes along with that, The Mandalorian has been loved by the fans of the Star Wars franchise. That being said, a lot are looking forward to Season 4!

As of the time of writing, neither Lucasfilm nor Disney confirmed whether The Mandalorian Season 4 is happening but that does not mean that there wouldn't be one!

While there is still no announcement if The Mandalorian Season 4 has been given a go signal, the events of the current season of the series seem to be giving way to a deeper narrative should it be given a green light for the fourth installment.

Hopes are still up as Jon Favreau told BFMTV, "Season 4? Yeah, I’ve written it already. We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode."

Favreau added, "So I was writing it during post-production [on The Mandalorian Season 3] because all of it has to feel like a continuation, one full story.”

Favreau even teased a crossover if there would be Season 4, "And then [Dave Filoni's] doing Ahsoka, which I’m producing with him, but he’s the writer and showrunner on that."

Favreau also said, "And so, to understand what’s happening on other shows or even Skeleton Crew, they all take place in the same Star Wars period."

Favreau concluded, "So, there are a lot more things that we have to keep in mind and stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well.”

The Mandalorian Season 4 Potential Release Date: When Will the Series Come Out?

Since there is no confirmation yet from Lucasfilm nor Disney about the renewal status of The Mandalorian Season 4, if and when the series would be renewed, the earliest possible release of the series could take place a year and a half from now.

This is based on the release dates of the previous seasons of The Mandalorian where the first season was released in 2019, the second in 2020, and the third this 2023 since the pandemic put the production of the series to a halt.

With the world slowly returning back to normal, it is expected that if The Mandalorian Season 4 would be renewed, it could come out around 2024 to 2025.

The Mandalorian Season 4 Cast: Who are the Actors Returning?

There is still no confirmation yet who would be returning for The Mandalorian Season 4 especially with the current track of the series giving other characters the spotlight to helm the series.

Reportedly, Pedro Pascal is quitting in The Mandalorian Season 4, but please, take this with a grain of salt. Rumors suggest that the actor does not like the current direction of the series as per insider Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic podcast.

Still, without any confirmation, it is safe to say that Pedro Pascal is still in

The Mandalorian Season 4 and that means Grogu remains in the series as well. Grogu seems to be on his path to learning the ways of the Mandalorian.

Intriguingly, a recent report suggested that Pascal won't have any physical involvement in Season 4. Bespin Bulletin reports that the Chilean actor will be busy filming two upcoming projects, including Ridley Scott’s Gladiator and The Last of Us Season 2.

There is also Katee Sackhoff whose odds seem to favor her stars in the skies as The Mandalorian Season 3 heavily focused on her being the chosen one to unite all of Mandalore so it is expected that she would return for Season 4 should it be given a green light.

The Mandalorian Season 4 Plot: What Will The Series Be About?

There is no official synopsis yet for The Mandalorian Season 4 pending its renewal but fans can expect the series to follow the events from the Season 3.

The Mandalorian Season 3 delved into the redemption of Din Djarin to the Mandalorian ways and he brings with him, of course, Grogu, who starts to learn about the culture of Mandalore, even training under their wings.

What surprised everyone is the huge involvement of Bo-Katan Kryze in the narrative and with the events of the series leading to her being the "chosen one" to bring back the unity of all of Mandalore, it seems that The Mandalorian Season 4 would also be focusing on her.

Executive producer Rick Famuyiwa revealed to IGN that the series will not be all about Din Djarin anymore, "I think that's been interesting as we've been on the journey of the show, and now that we're at this point, is that, what does that title mean?"

Famuyiwa added, "I think now with Bo possessing the Darksaber, I know that there was a lot of expectations that might have shifted both in terms of what it meant for Din Djarin, but also for Bo and what does it mean?"

Famuyiwa concluded, "Who is the Mandalorian at this point? And so I think it could be anyone. And I think that's what they're trying to define in many ways, is what does that mean to be Mandalorian?"

Unfortunately, with no confirmation yet about The Mandalorian Season 4 happening, there is still no trailer for the series. Even if a green light is given, the series would still have to go through production and editing before a trailer could come out.

That being said, if The Mandalorian Season 4 will happen, the earliest possible date to expect a trailer could be in mid to late 2024 to give the production team the time they need to produce the trailers, teasers, and the series itself.
