Jon Favreau Shares Promising Update on The Mandalorian Season 4

The third season of The Mandalorian is finally premiering next week and fans are anticipating what's next for Din Djarin and Grogu's adventure following the events of The Book of Boba Fett. The series has also been a consistent hit on Disney+ and it is expected to run for more seasons.

As we are waiting for the upcoming third season, fans are also wondering whether a fourth season is already in the works even though Disney+ and Lucasfilm have not announced any official renewal or details regarding the show's future beyond the new season.

In an interview with BFMTV (via Collider), showrunner and executive producer Jon Favreau shared a promising update about the development of the fourth season and revealed that it has already been written as they were working on the post-production of the third season.

"Season 4? Yeah, I’ve written it already," he said. "We have to know where we are going to tell a fully formed story. So, we had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I. And then slowly you just write each episode. So I was writing it during post-production, because all of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story."

It is exciting that the fourth season has already been written since it is a sign that it is likely that they will begin production later this year. It is a guarantee as well that the series will have a fourth season even though Disney+ has not made it official and the third season has not even aired yet.

Obviously, we won't be getting any details about the fourth season until after the entire third season airs where we will get an idea by that time of what they might explore for the following season. For now, let's just anticipate the third season and enjoy the ride.
