My Dress-Up Darling garnered praise from anime fans when it aired in the Winter 2022 season. And recently, it received even more acclaim as My Dress-Up Darling was praised by Vinland Saga creator Makoto Yukimura.

In a recent interview by Comic Natalie, Yukimura and Attack on Titan creator Hajime Isayama talked about the upcoming season of Vinland Saga.

In their discussion, the two also talked about the shows that they’ve been enjoying recently.

When asked about what shows they’ve been enjoying recently, Yukimura said that he recently saw My Dress-Up Darling, which he found quite erotic.

He further shared that his first impression of the show was good, but the more he watched it, the more he liked it.

Yukimura being a fan of My Dress-Up Darling is quite unexpected. After all, his work on Vinland Saga is wildly different in story and tone compared to it. This is a testament to the show’s appeal.

It can also mean that creators of dark and heavy works do enjoy some lighter fare during their downtime.

As for Isayama, he mentioned that he recently saw the latest season of Stranger Things and that he’s in the middle of watching The Boys and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
