Meghan Markle finds herself at the center of criticism following the release of royal author Tom Bower’s new book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors. The accounts included in the latest release were given to Bower by those who know Prince Harry and Markle. However, it is important to note that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t give their side of the story in Bower’s book.
Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth Wanted Meghan Markle To Reconcile With Her Dad
One of the main issues tackled by Bower has to do with Meghan Markle and her estranged dad Thomas Markle Sr's feud. An insider told the author that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles urged the Duchess of Sussex to travel to the United States and patch things up with her dad following Thomas’s shocking allegations against the British clan. However, Markle refused.
“Harry did not tell his father about Thomas’s fury at being ignored by his daughter. Harry explained that Meghan refused to telephone Thomas Markle because she suspected that ‘his phone was not in his possession’ and ‘his email account was compromised.’ The inconsistencies of Meghan’s excuses not only irritated Charles but perhaps also the queen,” Bower wrote (via The Daily Beast).

Camilla Parker Bowles Had Doubts About Meghan Markle’s Intentions
The royal author also claimed that Camilla Parker Bowles had doubts about Markle’s real reason for wanting to marry Prince Harry. The future queen consort didn’t reportedly believe that Markle would sacrifice her independence to become a member of the royal family.
And true enough, after just two years, she and Prince Harry decided to quit their royal duties. The couple also complained about the things that they weren’t allowed to do with working as senior royals for Queen Elizabeth.
Meanwhile, Bower also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle were so obsessed with what royal fans and royal experts were saying about them. So, they would scour through the internet late at night to read the comments. And the next morning, they would urge palace staff to make sure that the negative comments were deleted.
Meghan Markle’s Vogue Cover Saga
If this isn’t enough, Bower also claimed that Markle wanted to appear on the cover of Vogue UK just like her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. But unlike the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry’s wife had outrageous demands for the entire editorial team.
“I want to break the internet. Listening to the duchess, the editorial team’s expressions showed silent exasperation. They believed most of her contributions were superficial, lacking rhyme or reason,” Bower wrote.
At one point, Prince Harry and Markle’s head of communications, Sara Latham, broke down in tears following the different instructions given to her by the couple and Buckingham Palace. The Sussexes wanted Markle’s guest-editing project for Vogue to be promoted, but Buckingham Palace wanted to cease promoting it as it would be boastful.
As of writing, Prince Harry and Markle have not responded to Bower’s claims. But prior to the release of his book, there were predictions that the Duchess of Sussex would dread it because of the shocking revelations that would be unveiled about her.
