Kate Middleton Takes Her Children’s Photos To Maintain An Element Of Control And Privacy

During a recent discussion on Royally Us, Kensington Palace curator Claudia Williams talked about Kate Middleton’s different approach.

“She's [Kate] taken a slightly different approach to how she creates or manages her children's public image. I think by releasing her own photographs, she's, kind of, maintaining an element of control and privacy for them whilst also showing, perhaps, a much more intimate picture of royal childhood than [what] we've seen before. You know, [ones] created by studio portrait photographers,” she said (via Express).

Williams also recounted a time when photos of Middleton’s children were released as part of an exhibition in 2019.

“We have a group of three photographs in the exhibition, one of each of the children, taken in 2019. These were the ones that she [Kate] suggested we include. Really, you know, they are a mother's eye view of her children. George is looking, you know, not into the lens of a portrait photographer [that] he doesn't know, he's looking at his mother, behind the lens. That is the perspective that, you know, that's unusual and that's an intimacy that we don't often get,” she said.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Criticized For Exposing Their Children To Their Royal Lives Very Early On

Williams’ comments came on the heels of criticisms directed at Prince William and Middleton for reportedly exposing their children to their royal duties at such a young age.

Express conducted a survey and asked respondents if Prince William and Middleton’s children should be a regular fixture at the Royal Box during Wimbledon. Approximately 53 percent of the respondents said no.

Royal correspondent Richard Palmer reacted to the results and said that royal fans want Prince William and Middleton’s children to enjoy their childhood.

“Maybe people feel they should be allowed to enjoy their childhood and not be subjected to the attention of the public and the cameras. It surprises me, that,” he said.

Prince William Faced Criticism For Exercising Tough Love On Prince George

Some royal fans also criticized Prince William for not doing anything when Prince George told him that he was too hot in his suit at Wimbledon. But Sky News host Peta Credlin came to his defense and said that as a father, it was just right for him to give Prince George some tough love.

“Poor old Prince William has been hit with backlash after telling his eight-year-old son Prince George to endure the heat during the Wimbledon. He was wearing a suit and a tie as is required in the Royal box. The Twitterati went nuts when George complained about being hot. I mean it was only 28C but still, he complained it was hot and dad looks at his son and sort of said, 'suck it up.' Think a bit of tough love from Prince William to Prince George, given his kid will have the world at his feet in the future, I wasn't upset to see it,” she said (via Express).

But a royal insider also explained that Prince George was the one who wanted to wear a suit at Wimbledon because he wanted to dress like his dad.
