What happened in Loki Episode 3?
In Loki Episode 3, Lamentis, the episode starts with Hunter C-20 and Lady Loki having a conversation over margaritas, and C-20 is complaining about having a brain freeze. The Loki Variant bluntly asks her how many guards are around the Time-Keepers. We also get a glimpse of the plan as we finally learn where the portal led her and Loki – to the Time Variance Authority.
We see how well capable Lady Loki is. Loki follows her and interrogates her of her plans but they get interrupted by Judge Renslayer. In the nick of time, Loki transports them to another place and time: Lamentis 1 in 2077. Loki Variant revealed that such place and time is the worst apocalypse registered in the TemPad, the device she uses to travel through time and space.
In Lamentis 1, they found out that the TemPad needs charging so they could escape as the apocalypse on that timeline is about to happen more or less 12 hours with the moon colliding with the planet. In their search for a powerful source enough to do so, they learn more about each other. The variant clearly despises being called such, more so being referred to like Loki. She calls herself Sylvie, her alias.
Loki keeps her at bay by holding onto the TemPad. They encounter a woman who told them that the way out is the ark. Sylvie figured that it could generate enough power to charge the TemPad and they proceed to the train station where both of them have a little show of their abilities with Loki dressing up as a guard and Sylvie enchanting another to let them into the train.
While aboard, Loki and Sylvie talked about their origins and their mothers. Sylvie said that a man is waiting for her, a postman, and they discuss how "love is hate." As for Loki, he revealed himself as a bisexual as he said his preferences. While discussing, Loki showed her how she has been taught by Frigga and how she made him believe in himself.
When Sylvie took a short nap, Loki got drunk and partied with the passengers, even singing Asgardian songs but that also drew attention to them. After a fight ensued, they were literally thrown out of the train, and with Loki crashing hard on the surface, the TemPad was broken. Agitated, Sylvie let out a scream and sat on the side.
Loki shared with her his plan on taking the ark for themselves and escape the impending doom of the apocalypse. While walking to their destination, Loki interrogated Sylvie as to how enchantment works. Sylvie, annoyed, shared that for the feeble minds, she can easily tap into them and establish the connection making them do whatever she wills them to do.
It is a completely different story when it comes to stronger minds, Sylvie has to tap into their memories to take over their consciousness and trick them as if they were living in a said time in a fantasy she created like that on Hunter C-20 where she had to get her memory from a hundred years prior before she fought for the TVA. This surprised Loki learning that the TVA agents are all variants.
Their conversation was cut short as they had to make a run for the ark is about to take off. They had to fight hard to get their way and it seems that they now have formed some kind of bond or trust in each other. At the end of the episode, their only means of escape is the ark and it was destroyed right before their eyes.
Loki Episode 4 Theories, Spoilers, and Leaks
Sylvie has a soft side, everyone. We see her moon over reminiscing on the bits of memories she had with her mother as Loki tells the story of how Frigga taught him all the tricks he knows of, even showing her fireworks come out of his hands. She also acts like Loki, to be honest, as seen when they were thrown out of the train.
It seems that the TVA has more mysteries than what meets the eyes. The revelation that the TVA agents are variants, shows what reset means when they were asked how to plead. The entire organization is really shady and surely, there would be more revelations that are about to be unveiled in the next few episodes.
