Chapter 278 of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War picks up from where Chapter 277 left off, namely the moment Iino declared that she needs Ishigami and asks him to be the student council's vice president.
Ishigami doesn't seem averse to the idea, and he eventually accepts, but the moment of tension is, unfortunately, lost.
Six months later, Iino and Ishigami work hard to actualize the former council's vision.
Ishigami, more knowledgeable about technology than any of the previous council members, is finally able to do some great work, and everything runs smoothly, or so it seems.
Every first-year lately seems to gossip about how Iino and Ishigami would make a great couple.
As it happens, Iino and Ishigami agree, but none of them is willing to do much about it.
Ishigami fears that if he asks Iino out and she rejects him, the student council would crumble.
For her part, Iino loves the idea of a girl making the first move, but only in theory, as she thinks that admitting her feelings would be a sign of weakness.
So, Iino and Ishigami go on, having inherited a lot from Kaguya and Miyuki -- possibly too much!
As much as we hoped the two would get a resolution, it looks like their own love story could potentially be its own manga!

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Chapter 279 will be released on Friday, October 21, in Japan.
In Europe, Canada, and the US, it will be available from October 20 onwards.
