Is Grant Gustin Appearing in The Flash? Arrowverse Star Breaks Silence

On the brink of Ezra Miller initially being ousted from becoming DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran’s The Flash in the new DCU, Grant Gustin was one of the contenders DC fans hoped would replace the controversial star.

Upon the release of The Flash movie trailer, which features Ezra Miller still being the titular DCU hero, it remains to be seen whether Gunn and Safran do intend on replacing Miller with Gustin. Well, as the premiere date comes speeding forward, Gustin spoke about his potential cameo.

“I was — like everybody probably in the ‘90s — [I] loved Michael Keaton as Batman and [now] he’s back as Batman. And it sounds like they got just about everything else packed into that movie,” Gustin gushed about the film in a recent interview with TVLine, continuing on to say how he’s most curious to see “Keaton back in the suit and how they incorporate it” into The Flash.

Amid his excitement and hype for the film supposedly starting the new DC slate, when asked if Grant Gustin’s version of Barry Allen in Arrowverse is set to appear in the film, the 33-year-old bluntly says, “No.”

“There’s been a lot of rumors out there for a long time and no one’s come out directly and asked me, ever, on the record.” Gustin said, “You know, people ask me on the street all the time and yeah, I’m not keeping some big elaborate secret.”

It is worth noting that previous rumors on Gustin’s appearance most likely rooted from when Miller and Gustin’s heroes did work together on screen back in 2020 for The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths. Though rumors continued circulating afterward, the reports were never confirmed.

DC Studios’ The Flash is slated to be released in theaters on June 16, while The Flash Season 9 airs every Wednesday on The CW.
