It's an exciting time to be a DC fan as Warner Bros. Discovery finally ushered in a new and more promising era for the DC Universe. But despite all the hype surrounding James Gunn and Peter Safran's long-term plans for the franchise, many are still intrigued as to what the duo's plans are for two of the DCU's most controversial stars — Amber Heard and Ezra Miller.

Den of Nerds recently took to Twitter to report that WB Discovery CEO David Zaslav isn't the biggest fan of Miller for an undisclosed reason. It would be safe to assume that it has something to do with the actor's recent controversies and the fact that he's pretty much a walking liability to the company. The report added that he will no doubt be recast as The Flash in the DCU.

Insider KC Walsh would later refute the report, saying that the production company is very much happy with Miller's performance as evidenced by The Flash's favorable test screenings. The only thing that will jeopardize his DCU career is another scandal.

If you may recall, Ezra issued an apology last August for his ongoing issues and vowed to seek professional help to resolve them. As it stands, we don't have an update regarding the mental health treatment he's been undergoing but we're definitely hoping he's on his way to recovery.

Now, whether or not this changes the actor's public perception remains to be seen but judging by the social media discourse surrounding him, it doesn't look like fans are ready to let his issues pass that easily.

DC's The Flash is currently scheduled for release on June 23, 2023.
