Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be the closure of the threequel of James Gunn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the franchise this year.

The band of misfits are coming together one last time with the help of some familiar faces and they will be facing an enemy teased in the sequel of the movie: Adam Warlock.

New allies are also being introduced in the movie and there are already a few deaths that are teased to happen.

The leader of the band of misfits, Peter Quill goes by the name Star-Lord and he is a half-human, half-Celestial being the son of Ego the Planet.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to see the current state of Peter as he continuously looks for Gamora, despite not the one he used to love that Thanos sacrificed, but the one that went out of her own timeline.

The fierce warrior adopted daughter of Thanos, the Gamora that the team knew had passed after her father sacrificed her for the soul stone.

To date, her whereabouts are unknown but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to see her reunion with the Guardians.

The adoptive sister of Gamora through Thanos has had the biggest character development throughout the years and she is returning in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Nebula became a valued member of the Guardians, finally having the family she longed for since her childhood, and she is also in search of her sister, Gamora.

The villain of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be played by Chukwudi Iwuji who suits up as the High Evolutionary.

Making his grand debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the High Evolutionary is a scientist who works on the evolution of all living creatures to creating a "special race."

With the origins of Rocket being featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is expected that the role of the High Evolutionary in the life of the beloved Guardian would be explored in the movie.

With the perfect being by her side, Ayesha is expected to be one of the villains of the team as well, weaponizing Adam Warlock against the Guardians.

Among the Ravagers who raised Peter Quill is Kraglin and seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, he is now with the team in Knowhere.

Following the death of Yondu Udonta, his right-hand man, Kraglin, succeeds him as the wielder of the Yaka arrow and cybernetic fin which Kraglin is currently mastering.

Despite being in the first two films, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the first time that Kraglin will be joining the team as an official member.

Cosmo the Spacedog has telepathic powers, a Soviet dog sent to space and she is currently the security chief of Knowhere.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 marks the first adventure of Cosmo the Spacedog as an official member of the team.

She played the wife of Clint Barton, Laura, and now, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, she will be voicing the love-interest of Rocket, Lylla the Otter.

Lylla the Otter is similar to Rocket and their anthropomorphic friends who were part of the experiments of the High Evolutionary.

A reunion between Rocket and Lylla is teased in the trailer of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

James Gunn brings people with him in his various projects and among the is Nathan Fillion who will be suiting up as Master Karja in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Nathan Fillion already had two different cameos in the previous Guardians movies such as Wonder Man in the first movie, and an unknown character in a deleted scene in the second film.

Similar to Rocket and Lylla, Floor is another subject of the experiments of the High Evolutionary.

Unlike Cardellini and Hoover, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the debut of Asim Choudhry in the MCU where he would play a character similar to Wal Rus in the comics.

The role of Daniela Melchior remains undisclosed but as seen in the trailers of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, she brings the Guardians to the High Evolutionary.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Character Guide: Nico Santos as Orgoscope Employee Theel

Among the new additions to the MCU is Nico Santos whose role in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains undisclosed as well.

His character is yet to make an appearance, even in the trailers, and those involved in the project is silent on his role which could mean that he is either playing a small role or one that would be a surprise for all!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Character Guide: Cameo Appearances

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 boasts a ton of cameo appearances and voice cast members that are familiar to the general public.

First up, Miley Cyrus has been replaced as the voice of the Ravager Mainframe and a familiar voice comes in for the role: Loki's Miss Minutes, Tara Strong.

James Gunn's very own wife, Jennifer Holland, comes into the MCU as well as Orgoscope Administrator Kwol.

A powerful Lem sorcerer returns with the Ravagers as Kruggar comes back with Stakar's team of Ravagers.

Seth Green's Howard the Duck is among the cameos in the movie alongside Christopher Fairbank's Broker, Rhett Miller's Bzermikitokolok, and Gregg Henry as the grandfather of Peter Quill.

Surprise cameos include Michael Rooker's Yondu who remains dead but his cameo is worth it, Pete Davidson's Phlektik who is a horrendous blob, and Judy Greer's War Pig.
