Ever since the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, avid fans have been waiting for Adam Warlock to appear as a villain. And now that the third GotG 3's release date is nearing, fans are excited to see the character finally be introduced.
This was previously revealed before Marvel even started releasing trailers and clips related to the upcoming movie. With this, many are curious whether Adam Warlock will be the main villain in the movie.
Here's what we know so far:
Is Adam Warlock the Villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3?
Will Poulter will be making his debut as Adam Warlock in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie. The character is among the most powerful warriors in Marvel's universe, thanks to the Soul Gem.
Adam is both good and evil. When he is good, he is one of the most valiant defenders of the universe. But when his dark side emerges, he becomes a big threat.
Although his origin in the comics is good, his darker side, called Magus, is a villain from the future.
In the GotG 3 trailers, we see Adam fighting against Drax (played by Dave Bautista). This suggests that we'll see Adam as a villain in the upcoming movie.
In the Infinity Saga comics, Adam plated a vital role in fighting Thanos. But since his character was not injected into the Avengers saga, Marvel found a different way for the character to join the movies.
As revenge for the events in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the high priestess of the Sovereigns, Ayesha (played by Elizabeth Debicki), created Adam. But inevitably, his comic book history as a superhero will make its way into Adam's character.
But as to whether Adam will be the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 or not, the trailers reveal that there will be a villain more sinister than Adam. It's possible that his dark side will try to take over and the Guardians will fight to control him.
We do expect that Adam will be part of the new Guardians' group by the end of the movie.
Who Is the Villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
As revealed in the trailer, the main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji), who is described as a "Shakespearean" and "charming" character.
We also discover that the High Evolutionary is responsible for creating Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper). He is also keen on making a race composed of "super beings" by enhancing differentiate species around the galaxy.
In the comics, the High Evolutionary made his debut in 1966 as a brilliant scientist that specializes in genetic manipulation.
The High Evolutionary gives a challenge for the team as he goes against everything that the Guardians stand for. We can expect a pretty emotional and thematic battle in the upcoming GotG 3 film.
