  1. Urokodaki Wears a Mask to Hide His Kind Face

In the third episode of Demon Slayer season 1, Tanjiro revealed that the former hashira, Urokodaki Sakonji, wears a Tengu mask because demons make fun of him and his face.

Apparently, Urukodaki’s face “looked too kind” for demons, such that they made fun of him whenever they came face-to-face with him.

Since then, Urukodaki has never looked back, choosing to wear the Tengu mask every day, even in front of humans who would never judge his kind face.

  2. Yushiro’s Journal for Tamayo

We all know how Yushiro is so protective of Lady Tamayo, ever since they got acquainted. In episode 8, Tanjiro revealed Yushiro’s everyday routine, which could be embarrassing for him if Lady Tamayo finds out about it.

As it turns out, Yushiro keeps a journal dedicated to Lady Tamayo. He writes seven to 10 pages’ worth of journal, writing what he likes about her over and over again. If he fails to write on it, his day won’t be complete.

  3. Inosuke Gets Someone’s Name Right Once in Seven Times

Inosuke is incredibly bad at remembering names, especially Tanjiro’s name. He always calls him differently, from Konpochiro to the iconic Gonpachiro Kamaboko, which is incredibly different from his real name.

It doesn’t end with Tanjiro since Inosuke also gets Nezuko’s name wrong.

In the Taisho era secret in episode 16, Tanjiro revealed that Inosuke could only get someone’s name right once every seven times!

  4. Shinobu Can’t Stand Furry Creatures

Funny, in episode 21, Giyu Tomioka spilled that Shinobu Kocho can’t stand furry creatures, from cats to dogs.

Shinobu tries to deny it, but Giyu thinks otherwise, probably because he believes Shinobu has an allergic reaction to these furry creatures.

Still, Shinobu is a pet lover, and she gives her attention to fish instead of the usual cats, dogs, and birds.

  5. The Kasugai Crows Have Names

The Taisho Era secrets not only reveal secrets about the characters, but they also reveal the names of the Kasugai crows that accompany the demon slayers.

In episode 10, Tanjiro’s crow was revealed to have a name called Matsuemon Tennouji. In another episode, it was revealed that Inosuke’s name is Dongurimaru.

In a special Taisho Era secret, the name of Zenitsu’s sparrow was revealed to be Ukogi.

  6. Zenitsu’s Shamisen Talent

The Entertainment District Arc has some of the funniest Taisho era secrets, which revealed vital information about Uzui Tengen, his wives, and his mice.

However, in episode 35, Tanjiro revealed that Zenitsu has outstanding shamisen abilities for whatever reason.

He not only played the shamisen in female clothing, but he also owned it, earning the respect of his fellow shamisen players.

  7. Kie Kamado’s Rock-Hard Head

Tanjiro’s mother, Kie Kamado, also has Taisho Era secrets. In episode 43, Nezuko revealed that Tanjiro inherited his hard-headedness from none other than his mother, Kie.

According to Nezuko, Kie Kamado once protected her children from a wild boar by head-butting it!

  8. Mitsuri Kanroji’s Striking Appearance

Mitsuri Kanroji is one of the most beautiful hashira in the Demon Slayer Corps. She has striking hair and eye color, which isn’t all-natural.

In one of the Taisho Era secrets in the Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc, Tanjiro revealed that Mitsuri Kanroji got the striking color of her hair and eyes from eating 170 pieces of sakura mochi every day for eight months!

Would you try it in real life?

  9. Everybody Loves Rengoku

When all the hashira were asked about what they thought of Rengoku Kyojiro, no one expressed disdain over his fiery attitude and commanding demeanor.

Everyone loved him, and no Hashira had negative things to say to him. Truly, Rengoku Kyojuro was a likable man, and we still wish to see him alive and well in the series.

If only he were alive, his interactions with Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu would be fun to look forward to.

  10. The Design of Giyu Tomioka’s Haori

In the second episode of the Hashira Training Arc, Tanjiro revealed the story behind the design of Giyu Tomioka’s haori.

Noticeably, Giyuu’s haori is divided into two different designs. One half of his haori has patterns inspired by the haori worn by Sabito, and the other half was inspired by the dark red kimono worn by his late sister, Tsutako.

It was intentionally designed like this to honor Sabito and Tsutako, both of whom are special to Giyu’s heart.
