How Many Wives Does Uzui Have?
Uzui has three wives. They are Suma, Hinatsuru (Hina), and Makio. Although they have a lot of differences from each other, they are particularly similar in one thing: their affection, devotion, and commitment to Uzui. Oh, they are also busty, slender, and curvy! Perhaps this is Uzui’s preference for women.
They are all raised as kunoichi, or female shinobi. They all became wives of Usui after being attracted to Uzui’s flamboyance. They function as a single unit in every mission that Uzui undertakes. For your information, they all have consent in the context of their relationship with each other.
Why Does Uzui Have Three Wives?
As part of being a shinobi, Uzui has a family tradition that allows him to marry three women. When Uzui reached the age of 15, the head of the family had already chosen three women for him based on their compatibility.
Polygamy is practiced as a shinobi custom not only because it brings more spouses, but also for the sake of giving more warriors in the world that can help their families survive. Imagine Uzui Tengen’s flamboyant gene pool!
Does Uzui Love His Wives?
Uzui shows his affections towards his wives in different ways. He’s the type of guy that places more importance on actions than words. To him, his wives are the toughest, prettiest, and most good-natured kunoichis in the world.
Uzui has the utmost respect and regard for his wives. He also cared for them deeply, which translates to how dear everyone was to him. This is also seen in the Entertainment Arc of the anime, where his three wives almost died due to Daki’s demonic powers.
Who are Uzui’s Wives?
Suma is the original wife of Tengen Uzui, and also the youngest, at the age of only 19 years old. In case you didn’t know, the demon slayer fan book revealed that Suma’s sister was the promised wife to Uzui and not her. She crashed her sister’s marriage interview in order to replace her sister and become Uzui’s wife.
In terms of personality, she is similar to Zenitsu’s dramatic and over-the-top reactions when they are scared. In terms of her shinobi skills, she is often seen sporting two black kunais. Even if she’s a scaredy-cat, Suma fights for Uzui to the best of her ability.
Did you know that she is assumed to be bisexual? Perhaps this is one of the reasons why she gave her consent to Uzui Tengen’s polygamy.
Suma is voiced by Nao Toyama, who also voiced Chitoge Kirisaki from Nisekoi, Kongou from KanColle, and Nagisa from Assassination Classroom.
While Suma is the youngest wife, Hinatsuru is the oldest, at the age of 21. Unlike Suma, Hinatsuru is incredibly fearless when it comes to the battlefield. She sports a large crossbow that shoots out a lot of poisonous kunai that can affect lower-ranked demons.
As part of their custom to let the second-ranking family have their daughter married to the first family, Hinatsuru became Tengen Uzui's wife. According to Uzui, Hina is very kind, fearless, and strategic.
Hinatsuru is voiced by Atsumi Tenazaki, who also voiced Arisa Uotani from Fruits Basket, Rio Futaba from Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Chise Hatori from The Ancient Magus Bride.
Makio is a 20-year-old kunoichi who also became Uzui’s wife. She was known to be Tengen Uzui’s distant cousin before becoming his wife. Yikes!
Anyway, like Suma and Hinatsuru, she is a very slender, busty, and curvy girl. However, she has visible scars on her body due to her aggressiveness in battle. She is similar to Inosuke’s personality; she is also bold, wild, hot-headed, and very confident. Like Suma, she also sports two standard kunai as her weapons.
Makio is voiced by Shizuka Ishigami, who also voiced Ikumi Mito from Food Wars!, Bruno Bucciarati from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, and Ayame Kajou from Shimoneta.
