Daisy Ridley Says She Visits The Star Wars: Episode VIII Set Without Being Recognized

Daisy Ridley is currently one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood because of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that she probably won't be able to take a trip anywhere without being asked for an autograph. Apparently though, it's not the same on the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII.

The actress said she enjoys working on Star Wars so much that she visits the set even if she doesn't have any scenes to shoot. The 23-year-old English actress also revealed that if she wears regular clothes during those set visits, she can quietly go around without being noticed.

She told London's Evening Standard (via Spy):

I go to the set even when I'm not wanted, just so people remember me. When I walk onto the set in my civvies (civilian clothes) they don't recognise me, but when I'm in costume they're like, 'There's Rey,' and it's such a nice feeling.

Ridley also shared to the paper how she finds her newfound popularity quite overwhelming:

It's hard to fathom, so I take it in small doses. I think, when everything's done, in 10 or 20 years, I'll be able to look at it and take everything in.

Despite her fame with Star Wars, the actress said she doesn't want to be typecast as just an action or sci-fi star, adding that she wants her social media accounts to know that she's different from Rey.

I know in my mind what I want to achieve. This is one incredible thing and is going to lead to more things - hopefully more genres. I'd love to do theatre, but I get really bad stage fright. So I'm going to have to feel like I have real skills in film before I go to another format.

Most recently, the English actress confirmed rumors that she's in talks to star in an upcoming reboot series of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider films.

Personally, I think Daisy can explore any kind of genre in the movie industry if she wants to. Her audition tape for The Force Awakens alone speaks volumes already about her talent in acting. No doubt she has the potential. Couple that with her humilityand intelligence, as seen on her interaction with people on social media, I'm pretty sure she can go far in her career.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated for release on December 15, 2017.
