Details of Rey's ‘Force Vision’ in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Revealed

Warning: There areStar Wars: The Force Awakensspoilers in this article if you haven't seen the movie.

Rey's lightsaber vision sequence in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is one of the key moments of the film, yet many of us still don't know what those visions truly meant and what the people in them were saying. Apparently, that will all be revealed in The Force Awakens home Blu-ray.

Thanks to the guys at Tech Insider, who received a review copy of the Blu-ray, we are now given a breakdown of one important scene in The Force Awakens which every Star Wars fan would like to know – Rey's Force vision.

Here's a breakdown of that sequence, complete with subtitles:

> Rey touches the lightsaber. She screams as she is transported to a blue-lit hallway which resembles Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back where Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader's iconic fight took place.
> A young Rey is hear screaming "No!"
> Rey turns and walks down the hallway. At the same time, we can hear Yoda (Frank Oz) saying, "Its energy ...," then trailing off.
> Rey runs, then the hallway turns sideways taking her to a new setting as Yoda is heard again saying: "... surrounds us ..."
> An unknown man, believed to be Luke, yells "No!" (assumed to be following a scene where young padawans have been slaughtered).
> Rey looks up.
> The next scene shows R2-D2 next to a hooded person, who is assumed to be Luke. Yoda then says: "... and binds us ..."
> The hooded person places a robotic hand on R2 and Rey is then seen crouching on a muddy ground and rain pours.
> Rey turns her head then sees a man stabbed in the back with a red lightsaber. The man screams.
> Rey stands and walks backwards. Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness) then says: "The Force will be ..."
> The camera zooms out and Rey is then seen standing in front of the Knights of Ren, led by Kylo. Kylo looks at Rey and she backs away, then the scene alters again.
> Rey finds herself in Jakku, watching her younger self looking at the sky and screaming as she is dragged by the arm by Jakku junkboss, Unkar. The young Rey screams: "No! Come back!" Unkar hushes her and says: "Quiet girl."
> Young Rey screams "No!" again. Rey turns to find out that the younger Rey is looking at a ship flying away. The sky then turns from blue to black and a red light then beams outwards.
> The scene changes. Rey then finds herself in a snowy forest.
> Rey runs and Obi-Wan calls out saying: "Rey?"
> Kylo Ren appears from behind a tree and wields his lightsaber.
> Rey falls back in fear. Obi-Wan then says: "These are your first steps." His voice fades.
> Rey looks around and finds herself back in the storage area.

The entire dialogue can be read below:

Young Rey: (Echoing) No!
Yoda: (Echoing) Its energy...
Yoda: ...surrounds us...
Man: (Echoing) No!
Yoda: ...and binds us...
(Man screams)
Obi-Wan: The Force will be...
Young Rey: (Echoing) No! Come back!
Unkar: Quiet, girl.
Young Rey: No!
Obi-Wan: Rey?
Obi-Wan: These are your first steps.

I don't think anyone watching the film in a crowded theater would have been able to fully grasp what that scene really meant without any subtitles. Now it's clear who's saying what. It's clear that Rey is a powerful Force wielder, probably even more so than Luke or Anakin. We're still not sure of her origins though, but with each new reveal, it seems to me that the person who left her on Jakku knows of her powers.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on Blu-ray/DVD on April 5 and on digital HD on April 1.
