After impressing fans with her excellent performance in Bocchi the Rock!, Hitori Gotou voice actress Yoshino Aoyama announced that she will be releasing her first major solo album this March.
While her now-signature character, Bocchi, is an expert guitarist, the guitar is not exactly Aoyama’s forte.
Instead, she is a singer who has performed a number of songs, including some for anime shows that she acted in.

Many Japanese voice actresses are also talented singers, which makes sense given their vocal training.
Yoshino Aoyama is no different, as her first major role is Yoshino Nanase in Wake Up, Girls!, an anime about an idol group in Sendai.
Aoyama and her fellow voice cast members from said anime also formed a voice acting unit, where they performed their songs from the anime live.
Along with her Wake Up, Girls! role, Aoyama also played some side roles in several popular anime, including The Promised Neverland, Restaurant in Another World, and 86.
But arguably, her biggest break is voicing Hitori Gotou (aka Bocchi) in Bocchi the Rock!, an anime that quickly became one of the biggest surprise hits of 2022.
Aoyama is not only known among Bocchi fans for her impressive voice acting but she’s also popular for her web series, where she had to learn to play the anime’s opening song on the guitar. She was also able to flex her vocal chops in the show’s last episode.
While Bocchi doesn’t sing in the anime, Aoyama performed a cover of an Asian Kung-Fu Generation song, which served as the last ED song of the series.

Yoshino Aoyama to Release New Album
In 2022, Aoyama released three singles, with fans expecting more to be released this year. Though instead of more singles, Aoyama will release a full album.
The album is titled la valigia, which means “journey” in Italian. Along with her three previous singles, the album will include seven new songs, which means it will have 10 tracks in total.
One of the most interesting songs in the album is Toumei Ningen (or Invisible Man in English), as it is written and composed by Ai Higuchi of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 fame.
This new album from Aoyama will be released on March 8, 2023. The album’s physical release will come in a standard edition as well as a deluxe edition with extra goodies.
