Black Adam Star Dwayne Johnson To Become New Face of the DCEU

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson may have been formally known for the Fast and Furious franchise, but on October 21, he is about to make his mark as Black Adam, about to lead the future of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). There had been talks of The Rock paving the way for a new era for DC films, and his plans to even become ‘an advisor’ for the DCEU. Watch his interview with Variety below:

Once Johnson’s Black Adam debut hits big, he is set to become the ‘new face’ of the DCEU, starting off with his battle against Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel in the film. Johnson had been giving nothing but praises for his Black Adam character being ‘the most powerful’ in the DCEU, even so far as to diss Warner Bros. long-shelved Superman being no match for him.

Given that Dwayne Johnson’s rising star power changed the tone in Fast and Furious movies, it led to a different franchise by including hand-to-hand combats and more action-packed stunts aside from cars and street races. Fast and Furious’ worldwide box office grew alongside The Rock’s fame, seeing as this small change of sequence highly improved the franchise by becoming ‘bigger’ and ‘bolder’.

As for the Black Adam star’s future plans for the DCEU, in making up for Justice League’s failure, it is possible that if his Black Adam film takes off, the success will be sure to bring back the franchise’s most important characters such as Superman and Batman. It remains unclear what else The Rock has to offer to the table in delving in deeper to stretch out the DCEU aside from Black Adam, but given his experience with Fast and Furious’ success, we can expect him to make bring successful changes to the DCEU, as well.
