New Black Adam Trailer Showcases the Justice League

Next month, the hierarchy of power in the DCEU will change with the highly-anticipated arrival of Black Adam in theaters featuring Dwayne Johnson as the titular antihero. As the film is ramping up its marketing campaign ahead of its release, they've been releasing a lot of trailers and posters to hype up the excitement.

Today, Johnson unveiled a new trailer for Black Adam on social media. While most of the footage already appeared in past trailers, this new trailer featured archive footage of the Justice League and the villains in the past DCEU films as Amanda Waller revealed that the titular antihero already exists in the universe before the arrival of the heroes that we know and love.

You can check the one-minute-long trailer below:

It is interesting to see that this new trailed feature footage of the Justice League which is probably their way of showing to the audience that the film is indeed set in the DCEU and the arrival of Black Adam will shake up the universe as we know. Along with the inclusion of Amanda Waller, it legitimately places the upcoming film in the franchise's universe.

However, it doesn't necessarily mean that the Justice League itself will show up in the film (with probably the exception of a certain Man of Steel) and this is simply their way of showing the film's connectivity to the past DCEU films. Fortunately, another DC superhero team-up will appear through the Justice Society of America.

The film's logline reads: "Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

The cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Viola Davis. Jaume Collet-Serra directed the film.
