Toward the end of Episode 4, Baylan Skoll manipulates Sabine Wren into giving him the star map that will let him and Morgan travel to Thrawn's location.

Despite promising Ahsoka to do her best to destroy Morgan's plan at all costs, Sabine's wish to find Ezra Bridger is stronger.

Baylan, Morgan, Shin Hati, and Sabine are now on their way to Thrawn's location and the star map has been destroyed, ensuring no one else can follow.

It's safe to assume that they might be in another galaxy by Ahsoka's next episode.

Before making her devastating decision, Sabine watches Ahsoka fall from a high altitude into the sea, presumably dying.

Of course, it's hard to believe that the titular character would pass halfway through her own show.

She has already died twice in the Star Wars canon and before her show's timeline and was always brought back by mysterious forces, so we wouldn't be surprised if this happened again.

That being said, the creators need to tread carefully to avoid making death seem cheap, given how much Ahsoka has evaded it.

Those who have watched Star Wars Rebels, which Ahsoka references frequently might have recognized the floating road Ahsoka finds herself in as the World Between Worlds.

This is a mystical realm that defies time and space. Its many doors lead to events that have happened.

A strong Jedi can enter the World Between Worlds from a place of power. They might even be able to enter one of the doors and change the course of history.

Ezra Bridger did just that in Rebels, pulling Ahsoka back from a fateful battle with her former master. And speaking of Ahsoka's master...

In what we assume is the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka meets Anakin again -- and he doesn't even look like a Force Ghost.

Nevertheless, we doubt that Anakin returned to life. The World Between Worlds is a spiritual realm.

Seeing him there is a bit jarring as we weren't aware that a dead person can also walk the World Between Worlds. Then again, there is so much we don't know about the mystical realm.

Anakin greets his former apprentice saying that he did not expect her "so soon."

This wording suggests that he did expect to see Ahsoka at some point.

We need to wait for Episode 5 to confirm this, but Anakin's seemingly corporeal appearance could suggest that the World Between Worlds also serves as a sort of Jedi afterlife.

Could it be the place Force ghosts hang out when they do not appear before the living?

Whatever the place Ahsoka found herself in, we don't doubt that she'll return to Sabine.

If she's landed in the World Between Worlds, she's already familiar with it.

And since it's a mystical local where time and space are fickle, she might be able to arrive at Sabine's aid as a Deus Ex Machina.

But what if she also found a door that forever changed the course of Star Wars as we know it?
