In Season 3 of the Clone Wars animated series, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka discover Mortis, a mysterious planet that is strong in the Force.

Reigning there are three deities; a father who embodies the Force itself, a daughter who represents the light side, and a son who is the incarnation of the dark side.

The father continually strives to keep his daughter and son from destroying one another, but Anakin's arrival disrupts things.

To gain Anakin to his side, the son manipulates Ahsoka and then kills her when she's no longer useful to him.

Mortally wounded by her brother, the daughter performs one final act of light, reviving Ahsoka by using the Force.

The now-dead deities aren't physically present ever again, but everything that they stand for is present in Rebels Season 4; the second time Ahsoka cheats death.

In Clone Wars, Ahsoka only stays dead for a few minutes, but the Rebels animated series had fans assume she's dead for years.

Season 2 of Rebels features a tragic climax that brings Ahsoka face-to-face with Darth Vader.

Her suspicions are confirmed and she's devastated to find out that Vader's mask conceals her old master.

Since Ezra cannot help her and must leave in order to survive, two seasons pass during which Ahsoka is presumed dead at Vader's hand.

But when, just before the climax of Season 4, Ezra enters the mysterious Jedi Temple, where the deities of mortis have some form of power, things change.

Time works differently in the temple and Ezra comes across many events that have happened or have yet to happen.

The Force leads him to Ahsoka's fight with Vader, allowing him to pull her away before he can kill her.

At the furthest point in time the Star Wars universe has gone so far, namely the Rise of Skywalker sequel movie, Ahsoka Tano is presumably dead, though this isn't fully confirmed.

In the famous scene where several named Jedi who are known to have died speak to Rey, Ahsoka's voice is heard, too.

Other Jedi whose voices we hear include Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu, and Qui-Gon Jinn.

The Force allows sensitive individuals to communicate telepathically on some occasions, so it is possible that Ahsoka is alive; being dead isn't a prerequisite to communicating using the Force.

That being said, if Ahsoka were indeed alive, she would be the only one among those who spoke to Rey.

Ahsoka getting her own show after so long is thrilling, but could this be her last appearance? The beloved character survives Season 1, but she's stranded in Peridea.

Dave Filoni's upcoming film or a potential Ahsoka Season 2 could settle Ahsoka Tano's fate.

Right now, we can only speculate, but some fans feel that Ahsoka is unlikely to survive yet another show.

So far, Ahsoka has beaten death twice, a feat no other character has achieved. This suggests that she still has an important role to play in the galaxy.

It's possible that her own show will have her fulfill some purpose she will have to die for.

None of her near-deaths have felt appropriate for a character with such a great arc, so some fans feel that a good death could even be satisfying, as opposed, to, say, too many cameos that don't make full sense in future media.

Of course, the creators should be very mindful if they indeed plan on killing such a beloved character.

The fans didn't take kindly to the original cast's deaths in the sequel trilogy as they didn't really feel fitting for their arcs.

Confirming how Ahsoka died is similarly always going to be a double-edged sword.
