A Quiet Place: Day One Star Shares the Challenges of Silent Acting
Stranger Things star revealed that one of the biggest challenges of Day One was the fact that this prequel is set in New York City, a place not known for being quiet, which adds a new dimension to the story as the characters navigate this "very silent, very violent, new reality."
"As human beings, we communicate non-verbally all the time anyway," Quinn said, before adding the challenge he and Lupita Nyong'o faced, "[It was] to figure out ways to tell each other what to do and what not to do without any dialogue, which is great fun."
"It's very much its own film," he said.
Considering that the Quiet Place franchise found sign language as the fitting communicator in the previous films, it would be interesting to see how Day One unfolds.

While Lupita Nyong'o noted how exhausting it is to 'act scared all day', Quinn shared that his acting as Eddie Munson on Netflix's Stranger Things may have helped him in that area, "That's a skillset I picked up maybe from a previous job. I was able to apply it on this one."
In addition to having the pleasure of working with the director Michael Sarnoski on the film, Quinn admired co-star Nyong'o and called her a "formidable person and remarkable actor" to work with.
A Quiet Place: Day One stars Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong'o as two of the main survivors trying to find their way to safety after New York City gets attacked by an alien invasion.
Whether or not they survive would have to wait until the prequel comes out in theatres.
