The upcoming Star Wars movie featuring Daisy Ridley's return as Rey Skywalker has reportedly set a filming date.

Last year, Lucasfilm officially announced that they are working on a new Star Wars movie that will bring back Ridley's fan-favorite character and takes place during the New Jedi Order era.

The project remains in development, but we've been hearing several reports about the movie's alleged title, the New Jedi Order logo, and comments from Ridley and the director where they shared their excitement.

According to a scoop from insider Daniel Richtman, the upcoming Rey Skywalker Star Wars movie is set to begin filming this September.

The report also claimed that the project is currently casting for young actors who will play Rey's padawans and a villain that the heroes will face.

So far, Lucasfilm has not confirmed the claims that were made in the scoop.

If the project does end up beginning production in a couple of months, it indicates that pre-production might already be ongoing and it has gone under the radar as there are no official reports about its recent progress.

Recently, reports have also surfaced regarding the production plans for the film including the alleged "A New Beginning" title.

However, it should be noted that the scoop might not be true since we haven't heard any official reports from the trades or Lucasfilm about its filming date, and there is the likelihood that it could happen next year instead.

Director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy recently teased her plans for the film where she confirmed what we suspected about its premise.

"At the heart of it, for me, is Rey Skywalker, is Daisy Ridley and her story and taking her on an adventure to a Jedi academy. And sort of creating a world that is a natural dovetail to the story we've seen her go through the last three episodes," she said.

We should be hearing more official details about the project soon. At the very least, we are seeing signs that it is still a priority for Lucasfilm and they are eager to make it happen.
